WELCOME TO OUR BEAUTIFUL SECLUDED WATERFRONT CABIN!

We are located in Halibut Cove Alaska, a peaceful, tranquil area eight miles across Kachemak Bay from Homer. Homer is approximately a four hour drive from Anchorage traveling on highway 1. Our rustic hillside cabin overlooks Kachemak Bay and Halibut Cove providing stunning and dramatic views. Come relax and enjoy your stay in a private setting.Though we are a remote cabin it is not a dry location as you may envision by the description. The cabin has two levels with the lower area being a bedroom with a double bed, small library including books, cards and some board games. The upper level is the living area which includes a double sized sleeper sofa. We have the benefits of hot and cold running water, a shower and a separate out building with a state of the art composting toilet. Other features include a propane stove with an oven as well as a full sized propane refrigerator. Heat is provided by propane heaters and a wood stove. Large windows provide excellent viewing of the bay, sea life and the many birds including eagles that are in the area. There is an outdoor table for gathering or dining plus a bench and a smaller table with chairs for enjoying your morning coffee.

We are accessible by boat only. Water taxi service from Homer is provided by many companies which are located on the Homer Spit. It is highly recommended that once you book your stay with us that you contact one of the water taxi companies to arrange transportation across the bay as well as your return trip after your visit. We recommend either Coldwater AK or Mako's Taxi Service. A one way trip from Homer to the cabin takes about 25 minutes. Both companies have brought our guests across and we utilize them as well when needed. Upon your arrival to our cabin the water taxi will drop you off on our beach. You will use the stairs to climb up to the buildings which include the cabin, a separate shower outbuilding and the bathroom.

As stated our location is remote. Their are no stores in Halibut Cove so you'll need to bring your provisions with you from Homer. We do have items such as tea, coffee, cooking accessories and cooking spices which you are welcome to use. Our water comes from an on site creek. We have a small water purifier on site or you can choose to bring bottled water for your drinking needs. Cell phone reception is good for making calls and streaming however  we do not have internet service at this time. Their is a solar panel on site so device charging is possible.

We are close to Kachemak Bay State Park where you can kayak or paddle board to and hike the many trails including the Grewingk Glacier, Saddle, Alpine Ridge and many more. If hiking in the state park we recommend that you carry a noise making device such as a whistle and or bear spray as wildlife does frequent the trails. The Halibut Cove boardwalk which offers the Saltry restaurant and a espresso and coffee shop is a quick kayak trip from our location. We currently have four single seat kayaks with safety gear and two inflatable stand up paddle boards. We offer a private beach which during low tide is great for walking, looking for starfish or an evening fire.
